ABOUT THE PIECE
The story behind it.
An ornamental Black & Grey tattoo study created on synthetic practice skin, featuring a burning candle held within an intricately decorated candleholder.
The design combines flowing flame and smoke elements with structured geometric ornamentation, creating a balanced vertical composition.
The main focus of this piece was developing clean, controlled linework, symmetrical design construction, solid black saturation and smooth grey shading transitions. Carefully placed shadows help define the decorative structure and introduce depth without overwhelming the overall silhouette.
This artwork represents an early stage of my tattooing journey, documenting the development of precision, shading control and compositional understanding.
An exploration of the contrast between structured ornamentation and the organic movement of fire.
